Key Milestones
How did we get to where we are today?
On the 24th June 2016 East Northamptonshire Council (ENC) designated the Civil Parish of Glapthorn as a Neighbourhood Planning Area, under the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012–Part 2(5).
On 13th December 2017, following approval by the Parish Council, the Glapthorn Neighbourhood Plan V3.1 was submitted to ENC for further consultation. This was in accordance with Regulation 16 of the Neighbourhood Planning (General) Regulations 2012.
ENC confirmed, by letter of 15th December 2017, that the Plan submitted accords with the relevant statutory requirements and was published for further consultation under Regulation 16 for a six week period from 12th January to 26th February 2018.
On completion of the Regulation 16 consultation the plan was submitted, by ENC, for Independent Examination.
The Parish Council on 17th May 2018 agreed an amended version of the Neighbourhood Plan incorporating all the modifications required by the Independent Examiner.
This Referendum Version of the Neighbourhood Plan was forwarded to ENC who managed the Referendum which took place on Thursday, 5th July 2018 in the Village Hall. Everyone in Glapthorn Parish on the electoral register was entitled to vote; the referendum was conducted by ENC using the same procedures as for general and local elections.
