St Leonard's Church
Glapthorn Parish Church (patron saint – St. Leonard) is an open community committed to the love of God and other people. Our weekly services are well-attended and all are very welcome.
As well as enabling "regulars" to develop in faith we wish to attract new worshippers; promoting a Christianity which is appropriate for adults, as well as encouraging children.
Our website says something more about us St Leonard's Church, such as who we are and what we do. It also contains information and links if you want to find out more about the Christian faith and why – today – it matters as much as ever.

Community Venue
We are currently engaged in a very important and costly project, to refurbish the church roof to prevent the ingress of rainwater (which has already started). Some short-term urgent work has been done this summer to stop the current leaks, but more extensive work will be required over the next few years to effect a permanent solution. Fund raising initiatives and grant applications will continue as we seek to fund these substantial costs of repair.
These planned repairs notwithstanding, the church is currently available for use by the community for appropriate events, and anyone considering this should email St.Leonards.Glapthorn@gmail.com or call 07581 255036 or 07580 263456.
St.Leonard's Church 100 Club
St Leonard's Church 100 Club was set up in 2011 with the aim of raising money to fund the maintenance and improvement of the church building and churchyard.
We are very grateful for the generous support of members. To date the Club has raised around £24,000, which has gone towards the cost of :
· Installing a sound system with hearing loop.
· Improvements to the lighting.
· Buying a new lawnmower for the churchyard
· The annual tuning of the organ.
· Maintaining the memorials in the churchyard
· Other ongoing repairs and maintenance.
The subscription is £24 per annum (£2 per month per person). Each month one member wins £50, but in December the prize is £100. (If membership falls below 100 the prize may be slightly less.) The names of winners are displayed on the church noticeboard and included in the quarterly village newsletter.
The 100 Club rules (see link below) give further information about the running of the Club. The Club complies with the requirements of the Gambling Act 2005 and is registered with Northamptonshire Council.
For further information, or if you would like to join the Club, please contact Pauline Davidson.
