Life in the Community

The Glapthorn Village Hall is a registered charity run by a management committee for the benifit of the community and the surrounding area. The building boasts an excellent main hall with a purpose built bar and kitchen. Ample cloakrooms and toilet facilities make it an ideal venue for functions and meetings, large and small.

Glapthorn Recreation Ground is an area of recreational land situated at the west end of the village to the rear of Glapthorn Primary School. The facilities include a sports field (prepared to Sport England standards), a children's playground (with slides, climbing frame, swings and a balance/obstacle course) an outdoor gym and a car park.

Glapthorn Women's Institute is a friendly group of local ladies who usually meet at 7.30 pm in Glapthorn Village Hall on the first Wednesday in the month, except for August. We also usually have one outing a year, at least, and two fundraising events.

The Royal Oak Club is a Social Club for residents of Glapthorn.
